Things To Do

Located just 30 minutes from Saskatoon, Blackstrap is a great place to relax in an outdoor setting.  In the summer, enjoy camping, swimming, fishing, sailing and windsurfing; in the winter, cross-country skiing, ice fishing and more.

Water Recreation

Blackstrap Lake, located within the park, is a great location for various types of water activity.

Fun in the sun at the beach, located between Aspen Grove parking lot and Lakeside parking lot.  The main beach has great sand, lots of open grass area for games and sun tanning.  It is surrounded by shady trees for those who want a break from the sun.  There is a bath change house with showers and modern washrooms.

Parents must assume responsibility for their children’s safety at all times.  Swim only in the marked swimming area.

This is Saskatoon’s fishing hot spot!  Good populations of Walleye and Pike are present, along with good size Perch and Burbot.  If you don’t have a boat, you can still have success from the shoreline.  A fishing licence is required and can be purchased at the park entry office.  Check your local fishing guide for rules and regulations.

Boat Launch

The boat launch is located on the east side of the lake, within the park.  It is 5 km beyond the park entry gate.  There is ample parking at the boat launch.  The lake is ideal for water skiing, canoeing, wind surfing and of course fishing.

The mountain bike trail is the cross-country ski trail.  The trail is 5 km long and separated into two sections.

Cross-country Skiing

The trail is 5 km long and separated into two sections.  The upland section is 3.3 km and the lowland section is 1.7 km.  The trail starts and ends adjacent to the downhill ski pro shop which is located on the north side of the mountain.
